Manual Configuration of Your MikroTik Gateway

Downloading the Configurations Files for Your MikroTik

Follow these steps only to run the manual configuration.

Step 1

Select your gateway, and click the contextual dropdown menu.

Step 2

Scroll down till Download Gateway Config Files and click it.

Step 3

Double click the ZIP file to open WinZip.

Step 4

Unzip the files by selecting all the files and by clicking Extract.

Step 5

Select the destination folder for the extracted files and save them.

Uploading the Configurations Files to Your MikroTik

Now you need to upload your configuration files to your MikroTik.

Step 1

Power on your MikroTik routerboard.

Step 2

Open WinBox or download Winbox from https://mikrotik.com/download

Step 3

Select your routerboard by clicking its MAC Address
(login=admin without password).
Enter the details as follows:

  • Login Enter admin
  • Password – Leave it empty (no password)

Step 4

Click the Connect button on the right.

Step 5

Scroll down till New Terminal and click it.

Step 6

The Terminal window will appear.
Then, write the following command:

system reset-configuration no-defaults=yes

Step 7

Press “Y” to reset and wait till the device reboots.

Step 8

Click Reconnect.

Step 9

Once it reconnects, scroll down till Files anc click it.

Step 10

The File List will appear.

MikroTik with Flash Folder

Step 1

Now drag and drop the Hospot folder and the RCS file that you previously unzipped.

Step 2

If you have completed the drag-and-drop operation, move to Step 3.

Drag and drop both the Hospot folder and the RCS file into the Flash folder. Both elements must be under the flash folder otherwise you will lose it in case you reboot the MikroTik

MikroTik without Flash Folder

Step 1

Now drag and drop the Hotspot folder and the RCS file that you previously unzipped.

Step 2

If you have completed the drag-and-drop operation, move to Step 3.

Step 3

Select the New Terminal menu on the left, and the “Terminal” window will appear.

Step 4

Write the following command:

  • import ConfigScriptHotSpotRouterOS.rsc

Step 5

Scroll down to System.

Step 6

Select Password.

Step 7

Edit the admin users’ password on both “New password” and “Confirmed Password” fields.

Step 8

Then click the Change button to save the entry.

Step 9

Reboot your MikroTik to apply the configuration.

Now you have configured your MikroTik routerboard.
