This access method is used to verify the guests’ identity and to capture their mobile number. Guests need to type their mobile number and receive an SMS with the password. The user get access by simply typing the code into the captive portal.
Based on the portal configuration, these self-registering guests may need to add some further details before they gain access to WiFi.
The service is either free, charged prepaid with online top-up or postpaid.
You can configure this login form by using the following steps.
Select your Domain.
In the dropdown menu, click Edit.
Expand the General Data menu.
In the Authentication Mode dropdown list, select User self-service registration.
Expand the Data to Customize Users Registration menu.
From the Request the Username dropdown list, chose Use the mobile number.
From the Request the Password dropdown list, chose No. Self-generated.
From the Show Credentials option, select No.
Expand the SMS section.
From the User Password by SMS option, select Yes.
In the Text for SMS Notification, edit the text you need to sent to the guest, including the password. You can include different variables.
Click the Save button on the top right of the page.
To configure a connection to your SMS provider
From the Admin tab, select System Settings and scroll down till SMS Gateway Type.
You can determine a specific SMS gateway for each hierarchical level. You can specify an SMS gateway even at reseller and manager level. You just need to follow the procedure expanding the dropdown menu of the specific reseller or manager and select SMS Gateway.
Define the type of gateway to use and enter the relevant details in the fields.
Upon completion of the above steps, click the Save button to finish.
